Jill's Opinion Of D'Marco
D’Marco is a true representation of the quality stock that a breeding program strives to produce. D’Marco’s sire, RFA D’Arcy, is well known for the consistency of his progeny showing improved, high-end fleece characteristics packed onto solid frames.
Considered by Aztec to be D’Arcy’s pre-eminent son, D’Marco exemplifies the power of his sire’s production ability.
D’Marco’s profile is a study of the ideal alpaca phenotype. Handsome body proportion, a solid, flawless frame and classic head style create a striking picture when looking at this young male. Add to this, a supremely dense fleece with admirable fineness, uniformity and character and you begin to complete the image. Carrying a notable trait passed on from his sire, D’Marco shows a low percentage of medullation throughout his fleece – a highly desirable characteristic in superior alpaca fibre.
D’Marco carries within him, some of the very best full Peruvian genetics Canada has to offer. Grandsires, Coyo Destini and Viracocha from the famed Australian Jolimont herd provide a strong basis for his pedigree. Those who know the elite Canadian bloodlines will need no introduction to his granddams, two of the core national matriarchs, Grazia and Peruvian Snappy, both females who have produced many champions during their productive lifetimes.
Strength in phenotype, measurably superior fleece and enviable pedigree.
If there’s a young herdsire who has all the makings of a macho poised to make his mark on the Canadian industry in years to come – D’Marco has that potential.
